sunday calm

sunday calm

Clothes tumbling in the winding dryer
Time’s moving slow and I’m in love.
Sun lingers after it’s daylight waltz.
Through the trees I see it smiling.
Party’s almost over, but not yet.
Smells of clean soap from laundry done.
Kids voices in the blurriness of now.
Life’s a here, you hear?
Listening with all my heart,
For the music that keeps
Everything from going crazy.
Birds chirping my songs.
This is calm,
My Sunday calm.
